Pre-school program LIC Kids center commits itself to providing an exceptional physical, intellectual and socially enriching experience for all students enrolled. Our Early Enrichment program features a preschool alternative program for 2.5-4.5 yrs old meeting 2 - 5 days per week for 3 hours per day, with 45 minutes of several different classes. This program allows children to build social skills and friendships with peers while basic sports, arts and crafts, math, and music activities are paired with structured and unstructured physical activity in our fully equipped gym space. Children gain self-confidence as they express themselves creatively, learn new concepts and enhance their fine and gross motor skills at each class meeting.
Baby Gym (6-12mos) In this beginner's class, babies join in the exploration of the up-side down world of gymnastics. It's a fun way to enhance basic motor, and early social skill development.
Baby Music (4-12mos) An interactive and stimulating introduction of Music, where your infant will love shaking and rocking out with shakers, bells, mini-drums, maracas, and song. Your infant will attain an appreciation for music with variations in rhythm, tone and beat in a lively and comfortable atmosphere.
Art Adventures (18+mos) Children will create their own “masterpieces” with use of mediums-paint, crayon, chalk, clay, pencil, glue and more! Children will gain appreciation of the age of art and gain a understanding of various colors in the spectrum. Adult participation required.
Ballet (3-5yr old) Introduction to concepts and basics of ballet. Combines dance structure and imaginative games. Separated
Gym Adventures (12-24 mos/ 24-36mos) A quality filled forty five minutes for our smallest gymnasts accompanied by an adult playmate...parent or caregiver. This gently structured class includes a circle time warm-up, obstacle course and a progression of increasingly challenging skills.
Gymnastics (3-4yr old) A separation class for the youngest to have many opportunities for success and praise in this safe, progressive approach to gymnastics. Our T's will bounce between obstacle course, beam, vault, bars and drills that make gymnastics more of a reality.
Gymnastics (5-6yr old) Basic gymnastics techniques are reviewed and many new and exciting skills are introduced. Flexibility, strength and conditioning are encouraged in this exciting class. Participants are grouped by ability...beginners work on basic skills while more advanced students work on their own level of expertise.
Gymnastics (7+ yr old) Participant are grouped by ability and more advanced students work on the fundamentals of more advanced gymnastics...back walkovers, handstands, front walkover handsprings on vault and a whole lot of tumbling!
Martial Arts I&II Program designed for (3-4; 4-6 & 7+ yrs old) where they begin to learn the basic physical skills of balance, co-ordination, motor skills and flexibility as well as the mental focus and concentration and listening skills necessary in Karate and other martial arts for their future academic endeavors. This program also develops the ability to follow directions and exercise self-control, while channeling energy in a positive way. Students take one class per week.
Creative Dance (3-4 years & 5-7 years) This class is concept-based with a focus on natural movement as well as an introduction to some of the principals of dance technique. Imagery, music, props, and literary forms are used to explore the joy of dance. It is a wonderful opportunity for young girls and boys to develop motor skills, technique, musicality, body awareness, concentration and focus, to express feelings and ideas, and most of all have fun!
Creative Yoga (3-4 years & 5-7 years) These fun, dynamic classes encourage child's imagination and curiosity about the world. Through a combination of simple yoga poses, engaging songs and stories, children will exercise social, sensory and motor skills while increasing flexibility.
Theater (3-4 years & 5-7 years) Using fairy tales and other children’s literature as framework, students will dramatize a variety of stories while acquiring foundational acting skills and theatre vocabulary. Each week emphasizes a new story and features group participation and character exploration which utilizes movement and gesture techniques.
Chess (4+ yrs) Playing chess gives brains of any age a good workout. Kids especially benefit from learning and playing the game. For beginners who want to learn basic rules and ideas.
