Robin Cannon (Instructor, Music, Creative Movement, Birthday Parties) first discovered her love for teaching in 2005 when she began teaching as an Artist in Residence through the Berkshire Theatre Festival. During her 2 years with BTF, she had the opportunity to teach in 5 public schools, direct numerous after school programs and summer camps, and choreograph shows for kids. Choreography credits include: 2004 Children’s’ Christmas Tour (Flat rock Playhouse) among others. Robin holds a BFA from The University of Mississippi in Acting/Musical Theatre. Dance training includes ballet, modern, rhythm tap, musical theatre, jazz, and period dance. She danced with Mississippi: The Dance Company for 2 years and Showstoppers Musical Theatre Dance Company for 3 years. Music training includes over 10 years of piano, 5 years french horn, some guitar, and over 10 years vocal training. Robin and her hot pink guitar, Pinkerton, love playing and singing for kids of all ages throughout the city!
James Bobo (Gymnastics coach) is a former elite gymnast who represented USA internationally. James has over 30 years of teaching experience at all levels from Mommy&Me classes to coaching college level gymnasts. His fast-paced, real gymnastics classes are filled with fun. James has unique technique to make his classes special.
Sensei David Sheeger (Martial Arts coach) began his martial arts training at World Oyama Karate Headquarters in Manhattan in 1986. He was a member of the World Oyama Karate Full Contact Team from 1992-1997 and competed nationally and internationally in the Light Weight Division. He thereafter served as tournament coordinator of World Oyama knockdown tournaments in New York. He has also been a referee in international knockdown tournaments and served as chief referee in knockdown tournaments in New York. He began teaching regularly at World Oyama Headquarters in 1998.
In recent years Shihan David has concentrated his efforts on teaching children in the metropolitan area, helping them develop focus, discipline and respect for themselves and others, while at the same time having a great deal of fun.
Nicky Savage (Instructor, Managing Director), much like our children at LIC KIDS, first discovered her love for the theater and music while attending a Pre-School for the Arts while growing up in the rolling hills of Virginia. Throughout her life musical theater has been a focus and a love that is very close to her heart. Nicky holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Theater with a concentration in Children’s Theater from Radford University located in Radford Virginia. Throughout college and her early years in New York Nicky worked with many different Theater Companies and focused her efforts on performing for and educating children about the wonderful world of Theater and the importance the Arts play in our everyday lives. Nicky plans on attending graduate school to obtain her Degree in Early Childhood Education. She is thrilled to join the staff at LIC KIDS and is excited to help children bring beauty to our world.
Trishia TenEyck (Gymnastics coach) has a B.S. and teaching licensure in PK-12 Health and Physical Education. Trishia was a competitive gymnast and cheerleader throughout her grade school and college years. She has coached at novice to advanced levels of tumbling, cheerleading, and gymnastics throughout New York and Virginia. In 2009 she received the “Coach of Excellence” award at Spirit Unlimited championships. Trishia has worked building recreational and competitive programs receiving a variety of regional, local, and national titles. She has a passion for teaching children in a physically active setting. Trishia’s approach to teaching children fundamental gymnastics and development is unique, fun, and exciting.
Pauline Pisano (Instructor, Music, Gym, Spanish, Creative Movement, Birthday Parties) is an award winning singer/songwriter. Her list of accolades include: The Father Fame Award, The American Theater Wing's Rising Stars Award, Winner of the Twin Rivers Media Festival, and the Musicianship Award presented by Berklee College of Music in LA. She also ranked as a top 20 artist in the 2010 Lilith Fair competition, and had the honor of being a featured soloist at Alice Tully Hall. Pauline received her B.F.A in Theater from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. She also attended the well-known, LaGuardia High School for Performing Arts. She is a volunteer at Musican's On Call, an organization that brings music to hospital patients' besides. Her visits include: The Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of NY, The Children's Hospital at Montefiore, The Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center for children with degenerative diseases, and KidZone TV at Mt Sinai Kravis Children's Hospital. Pauline performs monthly with her band at venues across the city including Joe's Pub, Rockwood Music Hall, and others.
Suzanna Bridges is a singer/songwriter, musician, actress, kids yoga certified and North Carolina native. Graduating with honors from the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU with a BFA in Drama and a minor in applied theater, Suzanna spent years touring the country performing in Broadway musicals before her love of songwriting brought her home to roost in Long Island City. The child of two mental health professionals, she is a huge advocate for the proven positive effects music has on brain development in early childhood. You can see Suzanna play guitar, mandolin, piano, and sing throughout NYC with her bluegrass/motown/rock band, Walking for Pennies.
